Launched in November 1956, Velocette’s Valiant borrowed much from the highly successful LE design, including the engine and transmission layout. Significantly more sporting than the LE, the 192cc, overhead-valve engine developed 12bhp at 6,000rpm and gave the early models a top speed of around 70mph. Correspondence from the LE Velo Club Ltd records show that this Veeline model was despatched to dealer Stan Jones of Stockton on 19th November 1958. It comes with Swansea V5 and V5C documents, a number of old MoT certificates, the most recent to October 2007. The machine is substantially original in all major respects but missing some tinware. At the time of cataloguing it was not running but is expected to be running by the time of the sale, however is sold as viewed.
