Beschreibung:

Few machines are held in as much affection as BSA’s Gold Star which in 350cc and 500cc guise enjoyed huge success in clubman’s racing. First seen in 1938, the Gold Star was progressively developed both by the factory and by the enthusiastic amateur, although factory options catered for most needs. Scrambler Bill Nicholson had significant input into major frame developments in 1952 with the introduction of the new Duplex frame, a notable improvement which took the ‘Goldie’ to the end of its production run in 1962. The vendor advises us that he has owned this machine since 1968 and it is an undoubted favourite. We are told that the engine and gearbox were rebuilt approximately twenty years ago and the machine has seen little use since that time. New tyres have been fitted in recent years. Although the registration document indicates year of manufacture as 1955, engine and frame numbers suggest perhaps 1956 manufacture. The machine was in good order when last used – the tax disc suggests in 2005. It will reward the usual careful recommissioning. The bike is offered with Swansea V5C document and expired MoT certificates.
