Beschreibung:

Ariel originally introduced the Red Hunter model in 1932 as a sporting variant of its single-cylinder, overhead valve four-strokes. The machines were steadily developed, incorporating features such as the pressed steel construction swinging arm, enabling them to remain competitive in post-war years in both trials and on the open road. Post-war VH production continued until 1959 and from 1954 the 499cc engine was producing 26bhp at 6,000rpm. This example is an amalgam of a 1955 frame (believed VB) with a 1950 VH engine and comes with a Roy Bacon Motorcycle Dating Service certificate confirming this. The machine is finished in traditional Ariel maroon livery and appears to have been in the present ownership since 2003. We understand it has been the subject of an engine rebuild and has seen little use since. The bike comes with a Swansea V5C registration document and the last expired MoT certificate from 2005. Careful recommissioning will be well rewarded.
