For the 1969 season BSA’s hugely popular 250cc Starfire featured a compression ratio raised to 10:1 while the added performance this created was catered for by fitting a 7inch diameter twin leading shoe front brake. It was built alongside the detuned Fleet Star which found a ready market with police forces and other fleet users. The Starfire was also offered in semi-trail format with raised exhaust, wide handlebars and a small tank. This example is presented in blue/white livery and fitted with chrome guards. It was first registered in Nottinghamshire in October 1969 and comes with an old style green log book and a Swansea V5 registration document. The vendor acquired this bike in 1989 and we are advised that the engine was overhauled approximately ten years ago and has seen little use since that time.
