Associated Motorcycles announced its post-war range of AJS and Matchless singles in June 1945, coded Model 18 and G80 respectively, the two 500s shared the same 93mm stroke as the 350 but came with an 82.5mm bore. Produced in parallel, the Model 18 and G80 in updated form were to remain in production until 1966, by then equipped with 86mm x 85.5mm engines. For the 1958 season the road models featured an alloy chain case and the modified rear units gave a lower ride height. This machine was first registered on 1st September 1958 and comes with a Swansea V5C registration document. It has been in the present ownership for just over one year and is offered with current road fund licence to 30th June 2009 and MoT to 9th July 2009.
