Hayat al-Hayawan - Vie des animaux, copié par Muhammed Taqi Al Tabrizi en 1292H. (1874). Manuscrit persan sur papier beige, calligraphié en fin "naskh" sur 18 lignes par page, s'ouvrant par une préface surmontée d'un sarlowh signée et datée Muhammad Taqi en 1292H (1875) au folio 4b. Le texte commence par une page de titre enluminée au folio 5a, puis du texte surmonté d'un second "sarlowh", au folio 5b. Il est signé et daté au colophon enluminé Ibn Muhammad al-... le 2e jour du 6e mois de 1292 de l'Hégire - 6 juillet 1875 (folio 146b). Muhammad ibn Mūsá al-Damīrī (mort en 1405) a achevé son encyclopédie extrêmement populaire sur la connaissance des animaux en 1372 au Caire, où il a passé la majeure partie de sa vie. Le traité a été classé par ordre alphabétique du nom de l’animal, avec 1069 entrées au total, de taille différente, la plus grande entrée étant consacré au lion. Chaque entrée comprend une discussion linguistique sur l'origine et la signification du nom, une description de l'animal et de ses habitudes, tout récit de l'animal donné dans la littérature sur le Prophète (hadith), une déclaration sur son adéquation en tant que nourriture, proverbes relatifs à l'animal, à ses propriétés magiques médicinales et occultes et à sa signification lorsqu'il apparaît dans un rêve. Trois versions ont finalement été distribuées: une longue, une courte et une de taille intermédiaire. Les mammifères et les oiseaux sont le plus mis en avant dans cet ouvrage. Ce livre fut l'une des œuvres dont le sultan ottoman Selim Ier ordonna l'impression pendant son occupation de l'Égypte en 1517. Muhammad ibn Mūsá al-Damīrī (died 1405) completed his extremely popular encyclopedia on knowledge of animals in 1372 in Cairo, where he spent most of his life. The treaty was listed in alphabetical order of the name of the animal, with 1069 entries in total, of different size, the largest entry being devoted to the lion. Each entry includes a linguistic discussion on the origin and meaning of the name, a description of the animal and its habits, any account of the animal given in the literature on the Prophet (hadith), a statement about its adequacy in as food, proverbs about the animal, its medicinal and occult magic properties and its meaning when it appears in a dream. Three versions were finally distributed: one long, one short and one intermediate. Mammals and birds are the most highlighted in this book. This book was one of the works that Ottoman sultan Selim I ordered to print during his occupation of Egypt in 1517.
