Version peinte réalisée d'après la gravure du flamand, Crispijn I de Passe (1564 -1637), représentant Sigismund Báthory dans la même position et portant le même vêtement, la bouche entre-ouverte. Elle est conservée dans les collections du Fitzwilliam Museum à Cambridge (P.2632-R). Né à Oradea en 1572 et mort à Prague en 1613, Sigismond Ier Báthory devient voïvode de Transylvanie en 1581 en succédant à son père Christophe Báthory. À la mort de son oncle, le roi Étienne Báthory, il devient prince mais il renoncera de nombreuses fois à son trône à cause de désaccords. Légendé en latin "SIGISMVNDVS. BATORI. PRINCEPS.
