Provenance : Miss Eva Mabel Tenison (1880-1961, inscriptions on verso of photographs). [ Comprising :] i) John Rowlands (later Henry Stanley), half-length, seated in formal clothes, aged 15, taken a few months after leaving the workhouse in St. Asaph.
