Beschreibung:

Norman Parkinson (1913-1990) The Getaway Campaign: Two Editorial Prints featuring Jill Kennington Two unique gelatin silver prints, 1963, each annotated in pencil verso in an unknown hand, each on gloss photographic paper, each with margins, each sheet 510 x 408mm (20 x 16in) (unframed) (2) Norman Parkinson was often commissioned by National Benzole Petrol for advertisements in Queens Magazine. They chose him for his ability to combine the allure of luxury cars and lifestyle of socialites and supermodels. These photographs feature Jill Kennington, a British model (turned photographer) in an E-Type Jaguar on a coastal getaway trip. The E-Type Jaguar was in fact Norman Parkinson's own car, and he frequently used it in his shoots. Provenance: From the Angela Williams Archive, United Kingdom. Gifted directly from the artist to Williams, who was an assistant to Norman Parkinson during the time his studio was based in Twickenham, London.
