A fine and rare 18K gold half hunter case two train minute repeating grande sonnerie clock watch with date Signed Le Roy & Fils, London & Paris, To the Queen, 211 Regent Street, London, 13 & 15 Palais Royal, Paris, No. 35992 (partly illegible), case no. 16'442, circa 1880 Gilt-finished fully jewelled two train lever movement wound separately, bimetallic compensation balance, minute repeating and en passant hour and quarter hour striking on two hammers onto two gongs, gold cuvette, white enamel dial, Roman numerals, two subsidiary dials for date and constant seconds, large circular plain case, repeating button in the band, hours/quarter and silence levers underneath the bezel, case stamped with casemaker's initials JSo. and numbered 16442, cuvette signed and numbered, dial signed 55 mm. diam.
