1969 Maserati Indy 4,2L No reserve Sans carte grise A immatriculer en carte grise de collection Châssis n°AM116086 - Dans son jus, sortie de grange - Bel intérieur - Joli projet de restauration - Sans réserve La Mexico et la Quattroporte première version étant en fin de carrière, Maserati se devait de doter sa gamme d'une voiture quatre places: ce fut l'Indy, présentée fin 1968, avec un V8 de 4,2 litres et une carrosserie en acier signée Alfredo Vignale, qui eut la main plus heureuse qu'avec la Mexico. La Maserati Indy est une voiture de voyage accueillant dans un grand confort, quatre personnes et dotée d'un coffre à bagages de dimensions correctes. La production en série commence en 1969 et Maserati vendit 300 Indy en 1970, ce qui peut être considéré comme un succès. L'Indy est une voiture assez fine et on notera l'absence de bruits aérodynamiques et une consommation relativement raisonnable. Selon l'usine, l'exemplaire présenté est sorti des chaînes en septembre 1969 et a été vendu neuf en Italie. La voiture était fidèle à la configuration actuelle mise à part sa couleur qui n'était pas rouge mais 'Argento Auteuil' (gris argent). Elle a été trouvée au fond d'un jardin où elle était recouverte d'une bâche de fortune qui n'a pas empêché le temps de faire son travail sur la carrosserie. Elle est effectivement sérieusement à restaurer pour la remettre sur la route. L'intérieur en cuir noir a été correctement perservé, ce qui permettra au restaurateur de le conserver après avoir bien nourri la sellerie. Cette Indy constitue un vrai projet de restauration de ces magnifiques Maserati des années 70 dont les prix ne cessent de grimper. Maserati unveiled the Indy by late 1968, with a 4.2-liter V8 engine and a steel body provided by coachbuilder Alfredo Vignale, and designed by in-house designer Virginio Vairo, who had already designed the handsome Mexico. The Maserati Indy was a good looking and very welcoming car to travel in comfort for four people and their luggage, given a good sized boot. Series production began in 1969 and Maserati sold 300 Indys in 1970, which can be seen as a success. The Indy was a very refined car - the absence of any wind noise is apparent - and the car has a relatively reasonable consumption. According to the factory, this car was rolled out of the factory in September 1969, and was sold new in Italy. The car is still faithful to the original in its current configuration, apart from its color which was not red but Argento Auteuil (silver grey). The car was found at the bottom of a garden where it was covered with a makeshift tarpaulin that did not quite stop time ravaging the body. The car needs to be restored if one wants to take it back on the road. The black leather interior though has been preserved quite well, so the restorer can retain the upholstery after treating the leather. This Indy is a full-ledged restoration project, but it would be worth restoring these magnificent Maserati from the 1970s as prices are soaring.
