1963 Jaguar Type E Série 1 3,8L coupé préparation "lightweight" Titre de circulation italien Châssis n° 888779 - Préparation ancienne très soignée - Idéale pour épreuves de régularité - Modèle très performant - Provenant de la fabuleuse collection d'un amateur italien Ce coupé Type E Série 1 a fait l'objet il y a une vingtaine d'années d'une préparation type "lightweight" très sérieuse, réalisée par un grand préparateur anglais. Dépouillée de ses pare-chocs, elle a reçu notamment un coupe-circuit extérieur, un bouchon d'essence à ouverture rapide, un arceau boulonné et plusieurs éléments de carrosserie en aluminium, dont le vaste capot avant fixé par des lanières en cuir. Le célèbre 6-cylindres double arbre a fait lui aussi l'objet de modifications destinées à en améliorer les performances, comme une alimentation par trois carburateurs Weber double corps avec leur six trompettes d'admission, un collecteur d'échappement et un radiateur aluminium spéciaux... L'habitacle en bon état présente deux sièges en cuir noir de belle facture et un volant gainé de cuir. Cette belle Type E était déjà dans cette configuration quand notre collectionneur italien en a fait l'acquisition, séduit par la qualité des modifications. Dans sa superbe teinte qui se rapproche du Gun Metal Grey, avec ses jantes Dunlop à serrage central et sa ligne fluide et dépouillée, c'est une machine qui se prête à merveille aux rallyes de régularité, y compris les plus belles épreuves comme le Tour Auto. La Type E dans sa version de base est une voiture déjà très performante, et cette préparation permet de la rendre encore plus compétitive. Italian title Chassis n° 888779 - Meticulous older preparation - Ideal for regularity events - Very powerful model This Series 1 E-Type coupé was the subject of a very extensive " lightweight " preparation some twenty years ago, carried out by a British preparer. Stripped of its bumpers, the car was fitted with an exterior circuit-breaker, a quick-release fuel cap, bolted-in roll-bar and various elements of aluminium bodywork, including the lengthy front bonnet fastened with leather straps. The famous 6-cylinder twin-cam engine has also been modified to improve its performance. This has included fitting triple Weber carburettors with their six intake trumpets and a special aluminium exhaust manifold and radiator. The interior is in good condition with two beautifully-crafted black leather seats, and a leather-clad steering wheel. This lovely E-Type was already in this configuration when our Italian collector acquired it, attracted by the quality of the modifications. Superb in a colour close to Gun Metal Grey, with Dunlop centre-lock wheels, this machine with its flowing and pared-down styling, is perfect for regularity rallies such as the prestigious Tour Auto.
