Présentée en 1962 avec le fameux six-cylindres Jaguar double arbre, elle permet des performances très élevées pour l'époque, nées des succès des Type C et Type D. La Série 1 est la plus pure et la plus désirable, avant les modifications esthétiques imposées par les règlementations américaines sur la sécurité. Ce cabriolet Type E a été acheté en novembre 1983 à Agen par son actuel propriétaire, et son compteur kilométrique affiche 77 603 km. C'est d'ailleurs le propriétaire qui en a assuré la remise en état, sans ménager son temps ni sa peine, entre 1983 et 1987. De nombreuses factures viennent confirmer les travaux qui ont été réalisés. Les "tours Eiffel" avant ont notamment été remplacées à cette occasion et la mécanique a été restaurée en conservant la culasse d'origine. De carrosserie rouge, cette voiture est équipée d'une sellerie en skaï noir. Étant restée entreposée au sec et n'ayant pas été utilisée depuis une dizaine d'années, cette intéressante Type E sera vendue sans contrôle technique et nécessitera quelques soins cosmétiques et une révision attentive au moment de la remise en route.
