Beschreibung:

Introduced in May 1932 priced at £120, the new Ford 19Y 8hp saloon set new standards for cars in its class. The vendor advises us that this example was completely rebuilt some years ago using an as-new chassis, scuttle, engine, gearbox, axles, brakes, steering, mudguards and running boards, these components having been supplied by Ford Motor Company to Stafford Technical College for tuition purposes pre-WW2. Entries in the old buff logbook suggest that this work was carried out in the mid/late 1960s and that the vehicle returned to the road circa 1972. When purchased from the College by a previous owner, Victor Frederick Lloyd, a mere nine miles had been recorded on the odometer! The total is currently circa 24,300 miles, yet the car remains in virtually the same condition as when it was purchased from the College. New items fitted at time of restoration included the floorboards, carpets, door locks, hubcaps and tyres, while the interior was re-trimmed and electrics rewired. Subsequently the vehicle was used by Ford main agents Lloyd’s Garage, Stafford, passing to another owner, Mr Clive Hawley, in November 1973 and thence eight years ago to the vendor. Sold only because of the latter’s ill health, it is offered with all MoTs dating back to 1973, old-style logbook, original handbooks, sundry invoices, current MoT/road fund licence and Swansea V5.
