Translated into English verse; by Mr. Dryden , London: for Jacob Tonson, 1697. 2°, engraved frontispiece, title printed in black and red, 101 engraved plates (small hole to upper margin of title and margins chipped, clean long tear to one plate laminated with adhesive tape, 5 long but clean tears to other plates, only one affecting image, final 2 leaves with large laminated repairs to margins, some leaves and plates browned or spotted, a few small stains), 20th-century morocco-backed marbled boards. Provenance : Will. Blackman, Ramsbury, old ownership inscription; William Harris and E. Harris, London, 1766, ownership inscriptions to recto of frontispiece. FIRST EDITION OF DRYDEN'S TRANSLATION, LARGE PAPER COPY. Wing V616.
