Carrington’s son, and that the photograph is of H.B. Carrington. Dated 1866 in pencil in the lower margin of the front of the card. (The background of the photograph is hand tinted; there is a light vertical crease slightly cracking the emulsion.) Carte-de-visite photograph of H.B. Carrington in uniform. Imprint of G.W. Apple, Indianapolis, on verso, along with 2-cent revenue stamp. Circular portrait of the head of H.B. Carrington, clipped from a carte-de-visite, partial imprint of Runnion’s Gallery of Art, Indianapolis, on verso. 3.2 cm (1¼”) in diameter, thin metal frame under glass.
