Title: Tabula super libros sententiar[um] cum Bonauentura [&] Bartholomeus anglicus de Proprietatib[us] rerum Author: Bonaventura, Sanctus & Bartholomaeus, Anglicus Place: Nuremburg Publisher: Anton Koberger Date: 1491 & 1492 Description: Two works bound together. 110, 146 leaves. A8, b-q6, [1-2]6; []4, 1-s6, E-G6, H-I8 (I8 a blank). Rubricated, with initials in blue and red. (folio) 30.5x21 cm. (12x8"), period carved wooden boards with remains of metal clasps and old paper label, rebacked with modern morocco, new endpapers. The first work, by the 13th century Italian ecclesiastical scholar and philosopher Saint Bonaventure, is apparently complete. The second work, by the 13th century English scholar Anglicus Bartholomaeus, seems to be a sizable portion of his compendium De proprietatibus rerum ("On the Properties of Things", dated at 1240), an early forerunner of the encyclopedia. Lot Amendments Condition: Some minor marginal staining, near fine. Item number: 213675
