Ribier was adviser to the King of France and also possessor of one of the largest private libraries of his day, "nearly 10,000 volumes; and many of them exquisitely rare and precious." (Dibdin). Ribier's works are quite scarce, no copy of either of these titles appears in the auction records for at least the last 30 years. OCLC WorldCat locates only 8 copies of the first title and 10 of the second. Lot Amendments Condition: Vellum with some soiling and edge wear; some worming, mostly marginal and with repairs to many of the leaves of the second title; very good. Item number: 212330
