Nur al-Din 'Abd al-Rahman Jami (d. AH 898/1492 AD): Diwan Ottoman Turkey, AH Jumada II 887/17 July-14 August 1482 AD Persian manuscript on gold-sprinkled cream paper, 251ff. with 15ll. of elegant black nasta'liq arranged in two gold-outlined columns, minor titles in gold, other titles in white on gold panels highlighted with coloured floral decoration, text outlined with gold, margins plain, opening folio with blue and gold illuminated shamsa with dedication to Sultan Bayezid (?) ibn Mehmed, opening similarly illuminated bifolio, following folio with fine illuminated heading, final folio with colophon signed Na'im al-Din ibn Sadr al-Din and dated Jumada II 887, slight water staining, and staining to edges of folios, in contemporary brown morocco binding with tooled medallions with foxes and rabbits, polychrome decoupe doublures, rather tatty and crudely mended at spine Folio 8.5/8 x 6in. (21.8 x 14.7cm.); text 5¼ x 3in. (13.5 x 8cm.)
