Provenance : Sotheby's, 6 June 1978, lot 422. This appears to be the earliest Churchill letter to have sold at auction (ABPC-online) -- even at the age of 14 his signature is already in its adult form of 'Winston S. Churchill'. In April of this year Churchill had entered Harrow, in the army class which prepared boys for Sandhurst. Writings of Sir Winston Churchill © Estate of Winston S. Churchill
