(Some browning and staining.) Contemporary half calf, uncut (worn). Provenance : 2nd Marquess of Bute (Luton Library bookplate). A FINE UNSOPHISTICATED COPY OF THE FIRST EDITION. The complete work was to have consisted of 8 volumes with 1200 plates. It was issued on both large and normal paper stocks, with some variation in the placing of the plates (cf. the previous lot).
