AUTOGRAPH COLLECTION. Collection of autograph letters and cut signatures, the autograph letters signed by GEORGE IV (to Richard, 1st Marquis Wellesley, 23 July 1822, about an Irish appointment), Gustave DORÉ (making an appointment, torn at lower margin), Benjamin Disraeli, 1st Earl of Beaconsfield (28 March 1851, on opposing a government bill), W.C. Macready, a letter written during the siege of Sebastopol by a naval officer, Sir William Peel (22 December 1854, 'I am writing to you with the rain beating through the tent, and my feet in mud'), and two others, the cut signatures including NAPOLEON I ('Napoleon', on a fragment of an edict, St Cloud, 29 March 1805), Queen Victoria and ten others,some tipped onto pages extracted from an album (some discoloured from paste), with a group of approximately 40 letters and documents addressed to, or relating to, Angela Burdett-Coutts, 1850s, and nine other letters and documents, and three printed items.
