AN OFFICER'S LEATHER JACKET, UNITED STATES ARMY AIR FORCE, WORLD WAR II, AND OTHER ITEMS Mid 20th Century A Type A-2 jacket, of dark brown leather (extending slightly below waist), with zip fastening, large external pockets and shoulder-straps, leather name label Capt Russ Aitken sewn on left breast, above a large round badge of a fox firing a Browning machine-gun, inscribed Y.A.A.F and YUMA ARMY AIR FIELD, and with interior label of ABERCROMBIE & FITCH CO., N.Y., circa 1943; the military insignia of Captain Russell B. Aitken, USAAF, including two aluminium identity tags on chain, three leather name-labels, fourteen various "wings" badges (two of them slightly defective), sundry rank badges, U.S. titles, five officer's cap-badges, medal ribbons and marksmanship insignia (Aerial Gunner, Pistol, Pistol-M, Pistol-D, Sub-Mach, Rifle and Skeet); an American sheath-knife, with unusual hook-form blade deeply stamped A.G. BIMSON, with small flat steel crossguard and plain wooden grips, with its well-made leather sheath marked CAPT. RUSS AITKEN, YUMA ARMY AIRFIELD, ARIZONA beneath the Fighting Fox emblem, circa 1942, the blade 9 inches long; a German or Austrian fencing-sword (schläger), with straight double-edged square-ended blade with very large steel basket guard, lined with sheet-aluminum, and wooden grip, the blade 34 inches long; a fighting knife of British Commando type, with darkened double-edged blade of diamond section, and dark ringed grip with waved crossguard (lacking scabbard), circa 1942, 6in. blade; and a regulation US Army M1 Type bayonet, complete with scabbard (29)
