Contemporary French red morocco gilt arms, arms of Louis de France [Olivier 2524, variant fer] at centre of sides, fleur-de-lis at corners, stylised flower tool in spine compartments, lilac gilt star-patterned endpapers, gilt edges (gilt in armorial slightly rubbed). Larcher bookseller's ('a la teste noire') notice on front flyleaf. Provenance : Barn (armorial bookplate); Robert Shackleton (Oxford, librarian of the Bodleian, small monogram stamp). Almanach royal, anne [1749]. Paris: widow of d'Houry and Le Breton, [1748]. 8 (193 x 117mm). Contemporary French red morocco gilt, sides with border of repeat tool and central arms of Louis de Bourbon, comte de Clermont [1709-1771, Olivier 2634], fleurs-de-lis in spine compartments, red gilt foliate endpapers, gilt edges. Provenance : J.A. Vaillaint (early flyleaf inscription). Olivier states that the arms were also used by Charles de Bourbon, comte de Charolais. Almanach royal, anne [1788]. Paris: widow of d'Houry and Debure, [1787]. 8 (217 x 134mm). Printed on blue paper. Contemporary French red morocco gilt, sides with arms of comte d'Artois [Olivier 2535, fer 8, tentative identification] at centre and large fleur-de-lis at corners, flat spine with large fleur-de-lis, blue silk endpapers, gilt edges. Almanach royal, anne [1790]. Paris: widow d'Houry and Debure, [1789]. 8 (196 x 117mm). Contemporary French red morocco gilt, sides with arms of Louis XVI [Olivier 2496, fer 4, citing a copy of this almanac in the library of Ch. Bosse] at centre and fleur-de-lis at corners, fleur-de-lis in spine compartments, blue endpapers, gilt edges (pendant on front cover rubbed). (4)
