A SILVER-GILT-MOUNTED BLUE AND WHITE TANKARD THE PORCELAIN CHONGZHEN PERIOD, CIRCA 1640, THE MOUNTS CONTINENTAL, LATE 17TH CENTURY The tankard is of elongated, slightly tapering cylindrical form with an ear-form handle to one side. The exterior is decorated with a continuous scene of a equestrian huntsman in pursuit of a deer, all between floral scroll bands. The flat base is unglazed and the handle and mouth are fitted with silver-gilt mounts. 8 in. (20.3 cm.) high
