Beschreibung:

The Porsche 911 is one of the most successful sports cars of all time, a 2-door sports coupé with its distinctive flat six engine mounted in the rear of the car and with independent rear suspension, an evolution of the swing axle on the Porsche 356. First produced in autumn 1963 and still in production today, the engine was air-cooled until 1998 when Porsche launched the 996 which used water cooling. The 911 has undergone constant development throughout its life and yet the latest 997 generation still utilizes the same concept of engine located in the rear. As the old saying goes, 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it! A hugely successful car in competition, the 911 has scored victories in both circuit racing and rallying and has been modified by both the factory and many private teams over the course of its life. In the mid 1970s, normally aspirated 911 Carrera RSRs won major world championship sports car races such as Targa Florio, Daytona, Sebring and Nürburgring, winning against sports prototypes. The 911-derived 935 turbo also won the coveted 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1979. The Carrera 3 was built for just two years at the end of the production of the 2.7 model and features the same chrome headlight surrounds and window trims. The 3.0 Litre engine produced 200bhp and achieved a top speed of 150 mph with 0 to 60 in 6.3 seconds. The car on offer today is a coveted 3.2 litre Carrera model which was first registered in June 1988. An original UK supplied car with righthand drive steering, it is finished in Arctic White coachwork with contrasting dark blue leather interior and white piping. The chassis number and car codes detailed in the service manual for E470 FVX confirm the sporting options that were originally specified. These include, amongst others, leather sports seats, forged light metal wheels, rear window wiper, Bilstein shock absorbers and a sunroof. All of which are present and correct. First delivered to Lancaster's in Colchester, it was serviced there until Chariots of St. Albans (Porsche Specialists) took over. Machtech JZ Porsche and Northway Porsche then serviced the car until just last year. A comprehensive history file accompanies the car with numerous parts invoices, old MoT certificates, service bills, full UK V5 registration document and driver's manual. It also benefits from the later G50 gearbox, a full clutch and brake overhaul at 50,000 miles as well as an MoT tax certificate valid until June, 2012. A full Category 1 alarm and immobiliser have also been fitted and the overall package represents a well looked after, good specification Carrera in excellent condition.
