Beschreibung:

Launched at the Geneva Auto Show in March 1980, the luxurious 380SL convertible and 380SLC coupe supplanted the outgoing 350 models and were produced alongside outwardly similar 280 and 500 equivalents. Power unit was an enlarged (to 3,818cc) and improved version of the M116 overhead-cam V8 engine first seen in 1969 in 3.5-litre form. The running gear followed Mercedes-Benz' established pattern, comprising all-independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes, while a new four-speed automatic transmission was standard equipment. Top speed was in excess of 130mph, with 60mph reachable in a little under 9 seconds. Although the 380SLC was built only for the 1980 and 1981 seasons, during which time fewer than 4,000 were made, the 380SL convertible remained a fixture of the Mercedes-Benz range until 1985. Finished in bronze with cream leather upholstery, this well presented 380SL '2+2' convertible is equipped with cruise control and CD stereo system, and comes with both hard and soft tops. We are advised that the car has covered a believed-genuine 66,000 miles from new and benefits from a recently overhauled transmission. It is offered with service book/history, owner's manuals, service invoices, current MoT and Swansea V5.
