1965 Chevrolet Corvette cabriolet Châssis n°194675122188 - Très belle présentation - Historique européen suivi - Bel état général Lorsque la General Motors lance, en 1953, la Chevrolet Corvette, c'est pour occuper un terrain que sont en train de monopoliser des marques comme Jaguar ou MG, celui des voitures de sport. Stricte deux places, la Corvette innove avec une carrosserie en plastique, qui sera sa marque de fabrique. De taille "européenne" et forte d'une ligne assez sobre, elle conserve certains traits caractéristiques de son pays d'origine, comme une calandre à "dents" chromées et un tableau de bord un tantinet excentrique. Sa carrière commence avec un six cylindres, bientôt remplacé par un V8 plus conforme aux habitudes d'outre-Atlantique, alors que la ligne évolue vers une silhouette plus musclée. En 1963 apparaît la Sting Ray, dont le dessin acéré de Bill Mitchell s'applique d'abord à un show-car et rompt avec le style de la première génération. Sa ligne tendue, élégante et ses phares escamotables lui donnent une allure beaucoup plus moderne. Le cabriolet Corvette que nous présentons a été vendu à l'origine aux Etats-Unis. Ayant séjourné la majeure partie de sa vie en Arizona, Etat sec et chaud, il est resté en bon état, bien préservé et dénué de rouille. En 1989, il est importé au Royaume-Uni, comme voiture en bon état d'origine ayant parcouru peu de kilomètres. Cette Corvette reste alors longtemps à l'abri dans la même collection et, en 2007-2008, des travaux sont effectués pour la maintenir en bon état de fonctionnement. Selon le propriétaire, environ 5 000 € sont alors dépensés dans cette optique. De teinte d'origine argent métallisé en excellent état, elle est équipée de sa sellerie noire, d'origine également, magnifiquement préservée, de même que le tableau de bord sportif et très complet. Avec un compteur kilométrique affichant 67 000 miles, la voiture fonctionne bien, se présente de même et procure beaucoup de plaisir au volant, grâce en particulier à son puissant V8 5,4 litres (327 ci) qui est son moteur d'origine accolé à une boîte manuelle. Having spent most of its life in the dry and warm state of Arizona, it has remained in good condition, well preserved and rust-free. Imported into the UK in 1989, with very low mileage, the car has been maintained for some time in the same collection.
