1950 Jaguar XK120 Roadster Chassis no. 670462 •Delivered new to Germany •Professionally restored between 2013 and 2015 •Numerous desirable upgrades •Registered in Switzerland Fußnoten This Jaguar XK120 Roadster was ordered in 1950 by Vice Consul Mannel Brisens in Germany. He transferred this XK to his new home/job in the USA and kept the car until 1961. Three further owners are documented. In 2014 the Jaguar was brought to Switzerland by the current owner. Here it received an extensively technical restoration by specialist engineer Paul L. Suter of Ponte Capriasca, Switzerland. The instruments being restored by specialist Peter Schreurs in the Netherlands. The car retains its original engine – 'W1639-8' – featuring the correct 'stud-less' cam covers. FIVA papers were obtained in 2016. To make it more suitable for driving on Swiss mountain-roads, the car has been extensively upgraded, though all modifications are reversible. Improvements include Coopercraft front disc brakes; 123-electronic ignition; Tremec T5 five-speed gearbox; Serck Motorsport high efficiency aluminium radiator; electric cooling fan (manual switch); transparent coolant expansion tank; and a full stainless steel exhaust system with tailpipe exiting at the side (as original up to LHD '672143', RHD '660093'). In addition, the electrical system has been converted to negative earth and modernised, featuring a WOSP 65A alternator (looks like the original Lucas dynamo); twin 12-volt batteries connected in parallel; Lucas-style battery cut-off switch; brake lights also functioning as rear indicators; and front indicators incorporated into the original sidelights. Other noteworthy features include original rear shock absorbers with reinforced link arms; and tonneau in original black canvas material. The car is offered with various boxes containing all its original parts to include: Ignition system Regulator Radiator Moss gearbox and prop shaft Drum brakes complete with hoses Assortment of more minor components Accompanying documentation includes sundry invoices, full Classic Data value/condition report, Heritage Certificate, historic New York registration, Swiss Carte Grise, and a FIVA Identity Card.
