A.I.F.), good very fine. 1851 Private Andrew Brand Curd (1897-1916), born in Chiswick, London. Emigrated to Australia on 15 May 1914, Curd enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force at Adelaide on 28 February 1916 serving with the 2nd Reinforcements for the 5th Pioneers, they travelled Alexandria and then on to the Western Front arriving on 29 June 1916, the Battalion were present during the Battle of the Somme, and killed in action on 28 September 1916, Curd is buried in Cite Bon Jean Military Cemetery, France.
