Wesley, who made many journeys on horseback to preach to adherents throughout England, Ireland and Scotland, informs certain of his followers of his demanding preaching schedule in southern England: "I shall have little time to spare this Autumn. Yet I will endeavour, with God's leave, to spend a few days in Cornwall. I hope to be at Tiverton on Tuesday, Sept.3d on Wedn. 4 at Biddeford: on Thurs. ye 5 at Millhouse, on Friday at Portesand, on Saturday the 7th at St. Cuthberts: On Sunday, Morning & afternoon at St. Agnes: On Mond 9 St. Just; Tues 10 St. Ives, Frid.13 St. Just; Sat. 21 Bristol. Let Mr. Rankin fix the Time & Place of the Quarterly Meetings. Peace be multiplied upon you! I am, my Dear Brethren, Your affectionate Brother" -- WESLEY, John.
