"I am pleased to know that you have taken especial note of my recent speech at the dedication of the American Legion Building in Washington [on ]. Needless to say, the liberty of the individual is the keystone of our form of government and, while, we must fight communism with every resource at our command both at home and abroad, we must be careful not to encroach upon the Bill of rights."
