Lot of nineteen, featuring several items related to Sergeant C. A. Coe, including: One Spanish-American War New York Volunteers Medal, 2.75 in. long with ribbon, featuring an American infantryman on obverse, text reading, "Awarded by the State of New York" around edge on reverse, and "To One Who Served The Nation With Honor, 1898 1899 1900" at center on reverse. Red, white, and blue ribbon attached at top. One Military Order of the Serpent Medal, 2.5 in. long with ribbon, featuring a book circled by a serpent at center of obverse, with symbols including an anchor, crossed swords, and a skull around edges of obverse. Red and black ribbon attached at top. One 38th National Encampment, Saratoga Springs, NY, United Spanish War Veterans Delegate Medal, 3.5 in. long with hanger. Medal dated 1936, featuring the Saratoga Springs city seal, the Saratoga Monument, and other symbols on obverse, with red and gold ribbon attached at top of medal. One Spanish War Veterans, 1898-1902 Medal, 2.5 in. long with hanger, featuring the Spanish-American War seal at center of obverse, with "Cuba," "Portorico," "U.S.A.," and "Philippine Islands" surrounding seal. Reverse features the word "United" at center, surrounded by cardinal direction initials. Hanger features instruments of war crossed behind the word, "United." One Spanish-American War Souvenir Medal, 2.25 in. long with hanger, commemorating Camp Alger near Falls Church, Virginia. Medal dated, "1898" on obverse, and features overlapping letters, "USV" at center. Camp Alger was a training camp established May 18, 1898 to support the Spanish-American War effort. Two rare possibly Spanish-American War commemorative items, including one brass pin, 2 in. long, in the shape of a lizard, labelled "Lizard" on obverse, and dated "1930" on reverse; and one hanger with "Lizard" printed at center, with purple, red, and green ribbons hanging below. One Hugh De Payens, Buffalo, N.Y. Pendant, 2.5 in. long, featuring the Knight's Templar cross with other symbols, and the number "30" on obverse. One unidentified gilt medal with cross/star configuration, 1.9 in. square. One cowrie shell watch chain with small medal featuring an unknown Spanish-American warship. 13.25 in. long, unlatched. One gilt brass eagle and shield over a wreath pinback, marked for Joseph Mayer Inc., Seattle, on verso. One United Spanish War Veterans, 1898-1902 lapel pin with Spanish-American War seal at center and war symbols at edges. One Neumeyer & Dimond straight razor with steel blade and bone handle, 6.25 in. One photograph of Sergeant C. A. Coe, 1.5 x 2.75 in. (sight) mounted on 3 x 4.5 in. mount. Penciled inscription on verso reads, "Sgt. C. A. Coe, May 6th 1906, Dalaguete Bar, Negros Isle, Philippine Islands." One pair of white cotton shoulder straps, 1.75 x 4.75 in. Lot also includes one real photo postcard featuring a group of men with two dogs outside of a building, and three silver gelatin photographs including two group shots of soldiers (one of which features a small child in front row), and one camp scene with Parlow backmark. Photograph of soldiers with small child has heavy wear to image and mount, including a large chunk of mount missing, a few tears in image, and fading near top of image.
