SERLIO, Sebastiano (1475-1554). Tutte l'Opere d'Architettura et Prospetiva . Venice: heirs of Francesco de' Franceschi, 1600. Seven parts in one volume, 4° (242 x 170mm). Woodcut device on general title, part titles within woodcut architectural border, numerous woodcut illustrations, some full-page, final blank to parts 5 & 6 and *4 in part 7. (A few leaves slightly soiled.) 17th-century mottled calf, blocked in gilt with cornerpieces (rebacked with sheep, splits in hinges), red lettering-piece. Provenance : pencil inscription on end-paper 'Sir Roger Pratt's (architect & associate of Wren) copy in his distinctive binding. From his library at Ryston Hall. £30'. The second edition, with an interesting provenance. The work was first published in 1584, using the same blocks. Fowler 334; cf. Berlin Kat. 2572 and Cicognara 675 for other editions of the work.
