A VERY RARE locally-printed flora, based on the work of William Roxburgh ( An alphabetical list of plants ... growing on the island of St. Helens, in 1813-14 London: 1816) and 'Wm. Leycester, Esq President of the Agricultural Society of Calcutta' ([p.i] of preface). The list of plants is preceeded by a preface which includes instructions on how to care for plants being transported by sea, and notes the best way of introducing plants into cultivation on the island.
