Original blind-stamped blue cloth gilt. RARE FIRST EDITION of the 1825-26 sealing expedition by 'Royal Sovereign' of London by one of the sealers. Their shallops 'Favorite' and 'Francis' were wrecked in the Kerguelens and the author relates their hard life there for three years before rescue. Excellent account of sealing and survival. Headland 547. Huntress 42S. Not in Rosove or Conrad.
