Barnard, of the brig 'Nanina' out of New York, with Edmund Fanning, reached the Falklands in 1812 just as the United States declared war on Britain. His ship was seized by the British shipwreck victims he had rescued, and he and his men were marooned, the 'Nanina' then sailed to London as a Prize. Major Alexander GILLESPIE.
