Roman Empire, a collection of 55 Silver Tetradrachms, including a Tetradrachm of Diadumenian (AD 218), mint of Antioch, cuirassed bust of Diadumenian right, legend in field, rev., eagle holding animal leg (Bellinger 28,41), two similar Tetradrachms of Nero (AD 54-68), from the mint of Antioch (RPC 4180 ff., BMC 20.174, 189), a Tetradrachm of Vespasian with Titus from Antioch, laureate head of Vespasian right, rev., laureate bust of Titus right, legend and date (year 2 = AD 71/71) in field (Wruck, 81, BMC 20.178,224), another of Vespasian from Cyprus depicting an architectural reverse and countermarked, together with similar Tetradrachms of Trajan (AD 98-117) (3), Hadrian (AD 117-138), Septimius Severus (AD 193-211) (3), Caracalla (AD 198-217) (19), Geta (AD 209-212, as well as a good representation of third century "soldier emperors," average very fine to extremely fine, a diversified group with some interesting reverse types and several specimens with attractive portraits (55) (lot)
