Nichols, and sold by John Boydell Benjamin White, and Peter Molini, 1778. Volume I (of 2), 2° (543 x 347mm). Engraved portrait of Rogers after Joshua Reynolds engraved additional title, dedication, and 39 leaves carrying 41 plates in various tints by W.W. Ryland, Sam. Watts, Sim. Watts, and J Basire, also including one woodcut plate by J. Deacon, after Italian masters. 3-page errata list at end. (Occasional light browning or spotting.) Contemporary russia gilt by Ph. Selenka, Wiesbaden, marbled edges (light scuffing to covers). The plates, which use a wide variety of techniques, show some old master drawings in Rogers's own collection. His preface states: 'That these prints may be faithful imitations, they are engraved the same way as, as well as the same size, as the Originals are drawn; and printed, as nearly as possible, in the same colours'.
