Jarrett 55th Ohio. Jarrett enlisted in September 1861 as a private with the 55th Ohio Infantry, Co. C, at the age of 25. While lifting a wagon at Petersburg, Jarrett suffered a ruptured hernia and was subsequently discharged for disability on March 7, 1863 at Stafford Court House, VA. Information relative to his service in modern ink on frame backing. Condition: Some light water staining along perimeter of portrait. Not examined outside of frame.
