The mother of pearl contains a ninth plate identified as Jane Morton Leonard / wife of J.S. Leonard, a one ninth plate Union case contains a portrait of a woman with a hard-to-read identification under the plate, dated July 25, 1861. Rare and notable Union cases include: rare sixth plate The Volunteer Fireman (Krainik-116); scarce ninth plate American Gothic (Krainik-374); ninth plate case Cathcing Butterflies (Krainik-387), and ninth geometric/scroll case with a gilded center. Condition: Most cases in very good condition. Images good-to-very good. Some with flaking of backing lacquer and solarization.
