Includes one issue of the Chicago Evening Journal dated 27 June, 1873; a collection of 10 checks issued by the Treasurer of the City of Chicago throughout 1874; 4 issues of The Pullman News (1927/28); one issue of The Palmer House Herald (20 May 1933); various programs for Chicago theaters ca. 1920s/30s; a catalog for the iconic Chicago department store Carson, Pirie, Scott & Company ca. 1950s; 1924 Union Bank of Chicago calendar with diary entries. Day calendar on red cardboard advertising the Union Bank of Chicago, located at 25 N. Dearborn St. 14 x 10”. Includes black and white photograph of the diarist; 2 black and white 14 x 11” photographs of downtown Chicago ca. 1900s; 5 sepia-toned 8 x 10” photographs of Market Street ca. 1900s; a group of 7 land grant documents with chain of ownership records beginning with original sale of land to real estate developer John H. Kedzie, ca. 1870-1929, along with lease documents for the Garrick Theater; 2 large elephant folios containing miscellaneous pay rolls for city employees ca. 1890s/1900s; a large group of catalogs and company letterhead sheets, ca. first half of 20th century; 2 volumes of membership rolls for the Daughters of Union Veterans, ca. 1920s/1950s; numerous signed pieces of correspondence exchanged between Chicago businessmen; a 1964 14 x 11” window card advertising the sixth annual Water Show (later the Chicago Air and Water Show); Saddle & Cycle Club blueprints; and two books: LEET, Frank R.
