One of 1,000 copies of this celebrated text of German expressionism, INSCRIBED BY KOKOSCHKA. The presentation inscription on the half-title, signed and dated London 1947, is to Mr Rushworth Fogg: '... the exclusive reason for reprinting these drawings of mine ... is because into the style, manner and elegant oddities of the worst-known and world-wide admired works of Klee, George Gross, Picasso and many others my seeds may have got scattered. May-be after 36 years of an existence, known only to those who find what is rare, my [?]odd drawings may make its appeal even to the English-speaking artists'. Kokoschka's drawings had first been published in the 1911 edition of Tubutsch . Together with a printed Christmas card comprising a Kokoschka illustration, ('Xmas in Vienna'), signed by the artist and dated New Year 1947. The journalist Rushworth Fogg (1908-75) wrote a regular column for the Daily Record between 1959 and 1973 (as 'Ross Macmaster') and helped establish the Irish News Agency. This copy of Tubutsch was inscribed when he interviewed Kokoschka for PA-Reuter Features. (2)
