I think he is a fine man, and I am glad to have your agreement. It is always good to hear from you - on any subject. With all best wishes." In his boldly scrawled postscript the President adds: "I welcome your thoughts on all these matters." Bernard M. Baruch (1870-1965), was a friend, advisor and confidante to the Presidents from Wilson to Kennedy. An astute businessman, he was a millionaire by the age of 30. He remained active, informed and attentive to both national and international politics well into old age, and frequently offered his advice and comments on appointments and other issues.
