GEMINI-TITAN 2 – Gemini-Titan II Air Force Launch Vehicle: Press Handbook, Second Edition, Manned Flight. The Martin Company, 1966. Press handbook that contains the rocket's history, signed by Gemini astronauts. SIGNED and INSCRIBED: " My Personal Copy – Gordon Cooper ." Additionally SIGNED and INSCRIBED with their individual Gemini Titan flight number(s) by Buzz ALDRIN, Gene CERNAN, Richard GORDON Wally SCHIRRA, Dave SCOTT, and Tom STAFFORD. This handbook was given to Mercury and Gemini Astronaut Gordon Cooper after the end of the Gemini Program. It was updated for each manned Gemini mission and was designed to give up-to-the-minute information to the news agencies covering the Gemini Program between 1965 and 1966. The handbook gives an overview of the Gemini Program, covers the Titan rocket history, Titan launch vehicle systems, pre-flight checkout, countdown and flight sequence, system details, launch complex 19, the Gemini spacecraft, and ends with information on rendezvous and docking. A section devoted to the Gemini astronauts dedicates to each a one-page feature, including the back-up astronauts and the loss of the original prime crew members of Gemini 9 – Elliot See and Charles Bassett. Loose-leaf, 10 by 12 inches. Illustrated with diagrams, charts, and half-tone images. Approximately 225 pp. Held in the original gray and black seven-ring binder.
