Carte nouvelle de la mer Mediteranée ou sont exactement remarques tous les ports, golfes, rochers, bancs de sable etc...Amsterdam (Pierre Mortier) 1700. Large hand coloured (old colour) engraved map in three sheets, joined. Embellished with 38 insets of major ports and harbours. Engraved by Romeyn de Hooghe About 590x1420 mm. Map was mounted on a wooden board, but has been skillfully removed, texture of the paper is therefore very "flat"and gives a slight faded impression, repaired tear to left part of the map (from bottom about 270 mms up), some minor spotting. Probably second state of four with the corrected title with two "R". This map was first published in 1694 in Mortier's Neptune François with a separate title "Cartes marines a l'usage des armées du roy de la Grande Bretagne" which was dedicated to king William III.
