Hill, 1932, one of 31 copies The First Edition Club publication of Twenty Letters to Joseph Conrad comprises 11 pamphlets of letters, printed at the Curwen Press, together with a further pamphlet containing an introductory note by G. Jean-Aubry- He states that ‘most of these letters were addressed to Joseph Conrad before his reputation had gone beyond a restricted circle of readers’. The writers comprise: Arnold Bennett, Stephen Crane (two letters), John Galsworthy, Edward Garnett (four letters), Constance Garnett, George Gissing (two letters), James Gibbons Huneker, Henry James (three letters), Rudyard Kipling, E.V.
