.36 caliber, 6.5" octagonal barrel, S/N 347 (ca 1861). Blued and color case hardened finish, brass triggerguard, gripstrap and backstrap, one-piece walnut grip. Single action 5-shot percussion revolver with rebated cylinder. One line Colt New York address, standard markings throughout. Matching numbers on barrel, frame, triggerguard, butt, cylinder and wedge. No number on loading lever. An old set of initial, "PL" are scratched into the brass butt and "MH" into the bottom of the wood grip. Contained in a modern wood case with dark green lining, including a reproduction flask, an original "36P" marked iron Colt bullet mold, a partial original tin of Hick's No. 12 percussion caps and a reproduction box of cartridges. Condition: Good. Revolver retains no finish with a mottled and oxidized brownish-gray patina. Barrel marking somewhat weak, cylinder scene worn, other markings mostly clear. Metal with scattered impact marks and indications of an old cleaning. Mechanically functional, good bore with some pitting and oxidation. Grips worn with numerous bumps and dings and some chips out of the leading and trailing edges. Case worn, mold fair, rusted and pitted. Other accessories about good.
