Coke') to Sir Nathaniel and Sir Nicholas Bacon, 'At the Temple', 4 December 1604, informing them of the right of John Waller to 'the benefytt of your Extent upon the Recognisaunce acknowledge [ sic ] by William Waller deceased unto the late L[ord] Keep[er] your father'; he has advised Waller to 'exhibit a newe Bill into the chauncerie' as the best means of procuring this, half page, folio , address leaf, small impressed seal. Nicholas and Nathaniel Bacon respectively high sheriffs of Suffolk and Norfolk, were the elder sons of Sir Nicholas Bacon, the former Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, and half-brothers of his youngest son, Francis Bacon the Lord Chancellor and implacable rival of Coke. Nicholas had the distinction of being the recipient of the first baronetcy to be created, on 22 May 1611.
