CHARLES DICKENS (1812-1870) Autograph letter, signed 'Charles Dickens', from Gad's Hill Place, Higham by Rochester, Kent, 'Saturday twenty second December 1866', 2pp, 8, to Sir Charles Russell thanking him for his information regarding George's appointment 'as the dear fellow is ill I think it better on the whole not to write to him just now' and sends his 'cordial congratulations on his good fortune.
